The “South American Register of Defense Expenditures” is an instrument designed by the CDS for officially measuring the expenditures made by UNASUR States in defense matters.
The “South American Register of Military Inventories” registers, systematizes and provides transparency to the material means of the Armed Forces of each one of UNASUR States.
The line of work on “Gender Policy” comprises studies about the integration, situation and role of women in defense field of UNASUR States.
Under the line “Institutionalism of Defense in South America” are found studies that register, systematize and analyze the normative, organic and functional aspects of the national defense systems of UNASUR.
The “Defense and Natural Resources” line is composed of studies intended to identify the vulnerabilities and dysfunctionalities that affect the proper protection and utilization of natural resources in the field of defense.
The “Inventory of Military Exercises” is aimed at systematizing and giving transparency about the current situation on the participation of UNASUR States in exercises with third countries, both regional and extra-regional.
The “Peace Operations and Humanitarian Action” line seeks to register, systematize and provide transparency to the participation of UNASUR States in the various United Nations peace keeping and peace building operations, and humanitarian actions.
The CEED’s Library and Archive has the function of systematize the information and make it available to the South American Defense Council.
